The Tanzania Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2011, scheduled for thursday 29 September  and Friday 30th September, 2011 is the inaugural of what is going to be an annual event on Tanzania’s business calendar. The objective of the summit is to create and initiate discussions about the promotion and facilitation of small and medium enterprises growth as a solution to the escalating problem of youth unemployment in the country. The initiative is being championed by the Young Entrepreneurs Support Initiative and being facillitated by Tanzania Private sector Foundation (TPSF) in collaboration with the The East Africa Speakers Bureau .
This year’s theme is: Unleashing Innovative Aptitude for SME Growth & Employment Creation for the Youth in Tanzania. The focus will be to motivate young entrepreneurs, identify business opportunities and build the capacity of SMEs so that they can grow and create jobs.
We believe that entrepreneurship can give young people a unique opportunity to transform their life chances; to build sustainable economies, strong communities and a stable, prosperous nation. Your support will go a long way in making Tanzania a better place to do business
Objectives

1. To promote,develop and encourage entrepreneurialism to drive sustainable wealth creation and poverty reduction.
2. To build the capacity of innovative entrepreneurs to lead in-country youth employment initiatives by engaging in agriculture and agro-processing and exploiting the opportunities in the information technology sector
3. To develop initiatives to support young entrepreneurs in increasing agricultural production and agro-processing by promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education in rural areas
4. To widen an understanding of the goals, methodologies, practices and innovative ideas of entrepreneurship
5. To provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to network and build partnerships with facilitators and other stakeholders
6. To learn about the strategic investments needed to transform the way in which alternative clean energy is provided to rural businesses and households.
